Jenny Young, Oral Health Therapist

A welcome new addition to our dental clinic team, Jenny Young is a highly skilled Oral Health Therapist with 16 years of experience in Adelaide and the mid-north. Having been a part of the Balaklava community her whole life, she is now taking on a new role as an oral health therapist at Balaklava Dental, where she will channel her skills and passion into helping young children.

A Part of the Balaklava Community

Jenny was raised on a farm in Mallala and attended Balaklava High School. She then went on to study Dental Assisting and began her career as a dental assistant in the Royal Australian Navy. With her passion for improving the oral health of children, she went on to further studies in oral health therapy at Adelaide University, where she completed her Bachelor of Oral Health in 2004.

A Calling in Oral Health Therapy 

Over the course of a varied dental career, Jenny has found her calling in oral health therapy. Good oral care can make the key difference in maintaining the health of the teeth and gums, and prevent a range of bacterial and other problems in the mouth.

Oral health is highly connected to overall health, and good oral care is a critical part of the body’s natural defences against infection, tooth decay and gum disease. Jenny thrives in a role where she can be part of educating the community on the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene, with a strong focus on the prevention of dental diseases.

Making a Real Difference for Children

One of Jenny’s favourite aspects of her role is that she is making a real difference in the lives of children, every day. As an oral health therapist, her role in our practice is to provide the young fellas with their routine check-ups and any dental care that may be necessary in our lovely, calming environment. Jenny is passionate about shaping a healthier future for children, and she would love to be able to help your children, here at Balaklava Dental.
